Installation - General Instructions

How do I correct misaligned shafts? [photo]
Use a flexible coupling to compensate for slight misalignment
Recommended coupling: FC Series type

How do I check to see if my shafts are aligned correctly? [photo]
Use a metal straight edge or laser sighting equipment to check for shaft alignment

How would I mount auxiliary drive components on output shaft? [photo]
Face hubs away from the housing; mount components as close to reducer housing as possible to minimize effects of over hung load. Avoid force fits that might damage bearings or gears.

How would I know if the reducer is worn out? [photo]
Check and record backlash at installation and check at regular intervals. Measure the rotary movement of the output shaft rotating alternately clockwise and counterclockwise at a 3 inch radius while holding the input shaft stationery.

When should I replace or rebuild the reducer?
When the backlash exceeds 4 times the movement taken at installation.
