What type of lubrication should I use in my 700 Series?
Mobil SHC 634 synthetic lubrication or equivalent.

Why is synthetic lubrication the best choice?
It reduces maintenance costs due to extended times between oil changes. Lower energy consumption from improved efficiencies. Broad ambient temperature range due to high viscosity temperature. Longer seal life, multi-purpose can be used on all other types of gear drives.

Other recommended lubrications
 Mobil 600W non-synthetic. When using this lubricant, reduce catalog ratings by 15%.

  
 
 
 

 

Can I use extreme pressure additive lubricants?
Caution should be used when using EP additive oils because some of these lubricants may contain sulfur and/or chlorine which are corrosive to bronze worm gears. EP lubes, in some cases, contain materials that are toxic. Boston Gear has a list of approved oils.
